With the launch of XperienceSthlm this week, we thought there is no better time to introduce our team than now! In our debut blog, you will become acquainted with our company\u2019s origin story and you will get to know our core team of partners a little bit better. We can\u2019t wait to share with you our expertise and collective interest in all-things-Stockholm, as we embark on this journey together!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a starter, we would like you to know what you can expect from us as a brand looking to spice-up the Stockholm sightseeing and tourism scene. XperienceSthlm is a branch of XperienceWonder AB, a Swedish limited liability company founded on the 23rd of June, 2023. XperienceSthlm is an up-and-coming travel & leisure brand based in Stockholm, Sweden. We offer a range of experiences for both visitors and residents to get to know the city of Stockholm like never before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From walking tours of all the must-sees, to family-catered activities, to hiking excursions into Stockholm\u2019s beautiful nature reserves, we got something for everyone\u2019s taste and every occasion. We aim to deliver personalized experiences that you won\u2019t soon forget and will leave you craving for another go! We want to become the friendly source of insight on all you can do, see, taste, and experience in Stockholm. We seek to connect you to this city, its people, its customs and traditions. And it all starts with our team of savvy content creators, partnership-builders, and expert guides (or shall I call them, Xpert guides??) or, in other words, our marvelous team of go-getters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our story begins in June of 2023, when our founder and current CEO – Francisca Leonardo – chose to take her passion for the city of Stockholm to the next level and build XperienceSthlm from the ground-up. Fran has lived in Stockholm for almost 4 years, arriving here from Canada in 2020 to pursue a Joint Master\u2019s degree at the Stockholm university trio – Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm University, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Post-graduation, while on a gap year doing some career-searching, Fran worked as a freelance tour guide showing people around Stockholm, rain or shine! Under her belt, Fran has 7 years of experience in client-facing roles, from which she learned that listening to customers and their needs was the<\/em> key to building successful and meaningful businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When she isn\u2019t talking about Stockholm or dogs or her mutual love for Stockholm and<\/em> all its dogs, Fran loves to visit museums, go on hikes, and capture the city with her camera. Not one to shy away from an opportunity, Fran did what others rarely dare to do – she put pen to paper, put her executional skills to good use, and brought together a dream team of partners into this business venture. Now, you get to hear a little bit more about this All-Star team!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As with any balanced team, we have the very important winger positions, here filled by Louisa Odell and Don Kamoya. Our Heads of Marketing and Partnerships, respectively, are there to bring Fran\u2019s vision to life through building a strong digital following and fostering community in Stockholm, both online and in-person. Louisa\u2019s currently finishing a Master\u2019s degree in Marketing from Stockholm University, while Don has plenty of experience in relationship-building and outreach at Strathmore University in Kenya, as well as through his and Fran\u2019s design thinking project to revamp citizen engagement in Stockholm\u2019s municipal affairs<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, we would be nothing without the midfielder and striker positions, filled by the hilarious Oscar Pe\u00f1a and lively Sanchia Thompson, our Xperience Curation Lead and Xpert Guide, respectively. With a combined tour-guiding expertise and experience of almost 7 years, they are the perfect people to show you the best of what Stockholm has to offer! Currently, Sanchia studies Linguistics at Stockholm University, were it not for the fact you can always count on her to come up with witty puns that might just fly directly over Fran\u2019s head. Meanwhile, Oscar brings his personal anecdotes of moments spent among Swedes celebrating traditions like Midsummer or Christmas with the Erikssons. After all, isn\u2019t every Swede just somebody\u2019s \u2018son\u2019<\/em>? (Wishing Sanchia came up with that one\u2026)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And finally, we got our goalie, which we all kinda know doesn\u2019t even like running much, but is there because she\u2019s essential – Tanya Pak, our Head of Technology. Currently, Tanya is finishing her Master\u2019s in Neuroinformatics at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich. Originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan, she earned her degree in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from McGill University in Canada. At the latter is where she met Fran, and the two have worked on tech-powered projects ever since. They also care deeply about building technology that is ethically-sourced, -designed, and -implemented. At XperienceSthlm, Tanya is working on leveraging the power of new AI tools to help us design the most unique and individually-relevant experiences to satisfy each of our customer needs. We aim to use AI ethically and develop tools that not only save us resources but also make our company attractive to top talent who want to shape the world to be the best it can be. All of this, through a diverse- and democratically-aware lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So this is it, folks! You\u2019ve met our All-Star team and it\u2019s time to place your bets! We hope to see you out there, exploring the ins and outs of Stockholm, sharing all of its best-kept secrets, and re-inventing what this city means to each person who visits or moves here, every step of the way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if you didn\u2019t know whether you could trust us until now, we hope you have decided to have a little faith! After all, isn\u2019t that what travelling is all about? Take a chance on us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
