Design District
We will take you through the streets that host famous Swedish design, upholstery, and antique houses in the posh area of Östermalm. We will talk about all of the iconic names of Stockholm’s design district and tell you about their legacy and historical context. We will include Linnégatan, Nybrogatan, and Strandvägen on our walk.
Östermalm Food Market
As one of Stockholm’s greatest food halls, Saluhall also serves as one of the most impressive architectural landmarks in the city center dating back to the 19th-century. We will go through the market so you get to experience the delicacies of typically-Swedish food.
Royal Dramatic Theater
A landmark of the Art Noveau period, this architectural marvel dates back to the 18th-century. Some of Sweden’s most famous stars, including Greta Garbo and Ingrid Bergman (Casablanca), had their start here.
Kungsträdgården
What would Stockholm be without its many parks and green specks? At King’s garden, we explore the importance of green spaces in Stockholm’s urban landscape and we talk about some key features of Swedish architectural phases, from Gothic to Baroque to modern influences.
Skeppsholmen
Undoubtedly one of the prettiest islands in the Stockholm city center, Skeppsholmen gives us a gorgeous view of the city’s Old Town and is home to important Swedish art museums like the National Museum, Moderna, and ArkDes. We will talk about art, culture, and architecture all the way through this last point.
