Stockholm’s aesthetic could be best described as prim and proper. Turn down the right alley, though, and you’ll find giant murals, mini sculptures, and graffiti-filled corners that most visitors walk past.

Your Local Xpert, an artist themselves, will take you into that other Stockholm in Södermalm: past enormous yellow figures by Os Gêmeos, through backstreets where Klister Peter’s roe deer street poster art hides in plain sight, and up to Shepard Fairey’s OBEY watching over the pavement. Then you’ll sit down with fika and channel the creativity you’ve seen into designs of your own, in a hands-on street-art workshop.

Xperience Highlights

Olesia beside graffiti art on the Stockholm Urban Art Tour

Step into Stockholm’s rebellious creative corners

Wondering why the streets of Stockholm look so prim and proper, with no graffiti in plain sight? Your Local Xpert, who has witnessed these streets change over the years, will show you why that’s only true if you don’t know where to look, and take you into the alleys and backstreets of Södermalm where the murals and sculptures actually live.

Guest viewing an Os Gemeos mural on the Stockholm Urban Art Tour

Discover street art by world-recognised artists

Stand in front of Os Gêmeos’ surreal murals, where electric-yellow and scarlet figures in flamboyant outfits paint the city in their own language, and Amara Por Dios’ sprawling murals draw on Aztec and Incan art. Shepard Fairey’s repeated OBEY posters make an appearance too. And if you’re lucky, you’ll spot Klister Peter’s art, the Swedish street artist known for blending his elusive stickers into Stockholm’s urban fabric.

Olesia on the Stockholm Urban Art Tour

Explore the story behind Stockholm’s underground art scene

Rather than another museum hall, your Local Xpert will bring you to the anarchist community hub where Stockholm’s street art and street culture actually took root, and tell you how it got from there to the walls you’ll see.

Guests creating their own pieces at the Urban Art Tour workshop

Make your own street-art inspired piece with a local artist

In this hands-on art workshop in Södermalm, you’ll sketch your own design, make your own multimedia collage, and create a street-art-inspired piece to take home, guided by your Local Xpert’s own practice as an artist. Settle in with fika while you talk about how street culture has shaped Stockholm over the years.

A hidden street art piece on the Stockholm Urban Art Tour

“Olesia presented some of the hidden art pieces that I would have never noticed myself, even though I was quite familiar with the area.”

I learnt some information about local urban artists that was very interesting. The tour was well organised with fika and workshop at the end, that made the experience immersive and engaging. I would recommend such an experience for those who are interested in exploring Södermalm from a more creative side and just having a fun experience.

“Recommend to anyone wanting something a little out of the ordinary where you get a deeper dive into the art that has shaped the streets of Stockholm and the minds of its people.”

My partner and I joined the Urban & Street art tour with Olesia. From the beginning, she was extremely easy to talk to, ask questions and contribute to the flow of the tour. She pointed out unassuming street art, everything from art knitted onto poles to tiny permanent installations glued into the pavement, and beautiful large commissioned pieces displayed high above on building faces, so many pieces we wouldn’t have noticed without her. We ended in an art studio to work together creating our own project as we reflected on all the questions about art and conversations from the day.
