My internship is officially over! After 4 months working at XperienceSthlm, I’d like to share my experience with you!
My name is Melina, I’m 19 and I’m a BBA student at a business school in Bordeaux, France. As part of my studies, I had to do an internship abroad at the end of my second year of studies. My main objective with this internship was to improve my English, which led me to choose a country like Sweden where the level of English proficiency is excellent.
I applied to XperienceSthlm, a young, dynamic company specializing in guided sightseeing experiences and community events in Stockholm. Right from the start, I felt a good connection with Francisca Leonardo, the company’s CEO, who trusted me despite my limited English skills. We discussed the value I could bring to the team, and as I was interested in marketing and communications, Fran gave me a job as a marketing trainee.
I arrived in the snow at the end of March, ready to begin my adventure. What made this internship so special was the diversity of my daily tasks, making each day unique. This blogpost is an overview of my role and what I accomplished during my internship.
My role at XperienceSthlm
One of my first tasks was to carry out market research to better understand our social media target audience. I analyzed tourism trends, studied competitors and identified growth opportunities for the company. This enabled us to better target our marketing campaigns.
I was responsible for creating content for social networks, which greatly developed my creativity. My days were punctuated by writing engaging posts, creating attractive visuals, and managing the content release calendar. I learned to use various content management tools and to track the performance of our publications using Meta Business Suite, for example.

Every day, I also had to manage our social network accounts. Posting content, responding to comments, and interacting with our online community were all part of my daily routine. This direct interaction with our followers enabled me to better understand their expectations and personalize our marketing approach.
A typical day in the company
It’s hard to describe a typical day at XperienceSthlm, as the tasks varied so much on a daily basis. However, here’s a general outline of my day:
Morning: Arrive at a co-working space around 9 am. Read and answer emails, then team meetings to discuss the day’s objectives. Performance analysis of previous day’s Instagram posts.
Mid-day: Creation of content based on site visits, experiences and blogposts. Interaction with the company’s tour guides to coordinate tours and discuss upcoming events.
Afternoon: Meetings with Francisca to review current projects. Main focus on social networking. Around 5pm, final check of tasks completed and planning of the next day’s activities.

This internship has enabled me to develop many marketing and communication skills. I learned how to use professional tools like Meta and Capcut and how to interpret data to adjust our strategies. Working in an international environment also helped me to improve my English considerably, both written and spoken.
I would like to sincerely thank the entire XperienceSthlm team for their warm welcome and constant support throughout this experience. Your efficient collaboration and invaluable help in all projects have greatly contributed to my learning and integration. I would also like to thank the guides for their hospitality during the site visits, which taught me a lot about Stockholm. Working with all of you has been an enriching and formative experience.

This internship at XperienceSthlm has been an amazing experience both professionally and personally. The various assignments, the interactions with a dynamic team, and the challenges encountered enabled me to develop my marketing skills while discovering the cultural richness of Stockholm. This experience will remain a highlight of my young academic and professional career.
